Marie Garstecki
Marie studied law at the Humboldt University Berlin, the Goethe University Frankfurt am Main and the Université Paris Nanterre from 2007 to 2015. She developed a focus on heavily regulated industries as early as 2009 when she worked at a French chemical company. During her phD she deepened the focus on energy regulation researching the regulatory discretion of the Regulator in Germany (Bundesnetzagentur) regarding the equity yield rates of the distribution system operators. During this academic time Marie has been teaching seminars to law students at the University of Potsdam and the Humboldt University of Berlin. In her professional career Marie gained extensive experience on electricity grid regulation, supporting clients to realize market access. She briefly worked at an American law firm on international sanctions and trade compliance, before returning to her passion of energy regulation. She has been with sonnen for almost 3 years now, managing stakeholder relations to improve legal frameworks for market participants.
